Fans Draw Bizarre Parallels Between Katy Perry’s New ‘Woman’s World’ Teaser and Amazon’s ‘The Boys'
Katy Perry is returning to the pop world after serving seven seasons on American Idol. The buzz for her comeback had been building up ever since the news of the pop star working on new music reached fans' ears. However, the first teaser for her upcoming single, 'Woman's World,' which was released last month, was brutally mocked by fans. In a bid to win her audience back, Perry has recently released a second teaser of the single, which unfortunately succumbed to the same fate as the first one.
Just two days ahead of the release of 'Woman’s World', Katy Perry shared a teaser on her social media, with a caption saying, “BABY WE AIN’T GOING AWAY”. However, in a bizarre turn of events, fans of The Boys drew hilarious parallels between the Amazon Prime show and the anticipated music video. They felt it resembled a commercial Vought International would create for the supes from The Boys. The 39-year-old was seen with a group of dancers on a construction site with drills, hammers, alcohol, and what appeared to be love toys.

The seventh album, '143', of which 'Woman’s World' is the lead single, would focus on themes of women's empowerment. The songstress also seemed to have attempted to revive her 'Teenage Dream' era to bring back her glory days in music. However, the provocative video instead became a subject of mockery for The Boys fans. And that was not all.
Fans also made some other bizarre yet humorous comparisons between Katy Perry and some of the supes in The Boys.
Fans cannot unsee The Boys' supes in Katy Perry’s 'Woman’s World' teaser
Katy Perry's 'Woman's World's second teaser received similarly mixed responses from fans. However, no one had anticipated that it would look like something Homelander would direct. The Boys fans flooded social media with mentions of Homelander, and how proud he would be seeing these parallels. Some even went on to accuse Katy Perry of trying to cosplay Firecracker or Valorie Curry.
There were, nonetheless, some fans who were excited to catch the video.

Katy Perry’s 'Woman’s World' teaser brought back some solid 2010 memories for fans, especially because the songstress seemed to have utilized her old formula of bubblegum pop that has worked out for her in the past. However, some fans perceived this as a desperate attempt by the star to remain relevant in today’s music scene, riding on the coattails of nostalgia. With mixed reactions to the new single, only time will tell if Perry’s comeback will be embraced by fans.
