Although megastars like Taylor Swift can handle encounters of higher social order with grace, not everyone prefers to step out of their comfort zone. At least not new-to-the-showbiz-world stars like her beau Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour locked in not only fans but stars across Hollywood who harbored a secret swiftie in them. Among them was a royal attendance that boosted Swift's fame and glory to its pinnacle. 

When the future King to the British throne, Prince William, and his two kids threw some moves at Eras Tour's London leg, the glee on Taylor Swift's part was evident. However, the same was not the case with her boyfriend. 

Following the picture of the two lovebirds and royalty that went viral, Travis Kelce revealed his initial thoughts about the encounter with his mother. Travis Kelce's mother, Donna Kelce, speaking exclusively to Extra TV, made public her son's thoughts. According to Donna Kelce, the star had said, "It just doesn't seem right" to be alongside royalty and celebrities like Paul McCartney and Hugh Grant. He had expressed his unlikeliness in meeting with such guests. 

Reiterating Travis Kelce’s words, which reflected his introverted nature and unfamiliarity with high-profile interactions, his mother said he felt out of place while meeting such esteemed personalities. Kelce said, her son wondered, "What am I doing here? Why am I even allowed to talk to these individuals?". Nonetheless, Donna Kelce was proud of the way her son was handling the attention that came with Taylor Swift’s prowess.

While Kelce's mom shared his son's encounter in his words, this was not what the Kansas Chiefs' tight-end said to the world moments after their royal run-in. 

Before his mother, Donna Kelce shared his humble thoughts, Travis Kelce shared his royal encounter on his podcast, New Heights. The NFL star met Prince William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte backstage. Travis recounted, "Obviously, we're backstage meeting him," he said of Prince William and little Prince George, and Princess Charlotte. However, awkward he called them "absolute delight to meet".

Kelce confessed his uncertainty about etiquette, laughing, "Wasn't sure if I was supposed to bow to them, curtsy, [or] be an American idiot and shake their hand". However, in contrast to Prince William and his family's aura, his younger brother, Prince Harry, who belongs to the same royal blood has bridged the gap between them and the commoners to become one of the American favorites, easily blending in the crowd with their friends and family across the sea.
