Yesterday’s Golden Globe Awards ceremony was quite the roller-coaster ride for Taylor Swift. When the 34-year-old pulled up at the ceremony, everybody stopped to stare at her glittering green silhouette that stole the show. As the night progressed, she seemed to be having a great time alongside her BFF, Selena Gomez, until the atmosphere changed when the host of the night, Jo Koy made a controversial remark. Koy had snuck in a statement about how she gets plenty of attention at Travis Kelce’s NFL games.

Since Swift coldly glared at him for saying so, Koy responded to the drama after the ceremony by saying this.

The way in which Swift pursed her lips and took a sip of her drink after Koy made his quip was not missed by anybody. After the event, the comedian was asked by Entertainment Tonight what he thought of her reaction. Well, he simply smiled and called the whole thing “cute”. Then, he even emphasized that his joke was about “less cutaways” and nothing else. 

It seems likely that the comedian was poking fun at the camera crew for how Swift is dragged into the spotlight everywhere for no fault of her own. The same critique has been echoed by sports fans who are sick of the camera always panning to the 12-time Grammy winner at her boyfriend’s games. It is possible that the washed-out joke simply came across as tiresome to Swift.

After all, another thing that happened to her that night seems to have been blown out of proportion too. 

The Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner drama

During the festivities, Swift and Selena Gomez had been seated at the same table. At some point, Gomez met Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet after which she came back to her friends and whispered something, leaving her girlfriends in shock. Then, the internet blew up with speculation that the ladies were gossiping about Chalamet and Jenner since one of them seemed to have voiced Chalamet’s name. 

The buzz around this hot take grew so much that Gomez recently spoke up to clarify it all. She refuted the theories and asked everybody to stop “overanalyzing” it all. Meanwhile, tabloids are still echoing the story of how Swift was gaping at whatever secret Gomez had spilled. Evidently, these superstars cannot escape the paparazzi and netizens when it comes to such intriguing tales.
