The Witcher: Blood Origin, a prequel series to the famous fantasy program, officially has a release date now. After more than a year of speculation, Netflix has disclosed the release date for The Witcher: Blood Origin at the TUDUM fan event. Along with a poster, Netflix confirmed that the show would air on Christmas Day, December 25, confirming prior reports.

Adding actor Minnie Driver to the roster as the series’ narrator was one of the most significant announcements for the forthcoming episode.

Who knew actress Minnie Driver would be the glue that holds the Witcherverse together? The Good Will Hunting Oscar nominee, who was most recently seen in the HBO Max series Starstruck and the Cinderella film starring Camila Cabello, has joined Netflix’s fantasy saga in a vital role that ties The Witcher’s past and future.
Minnie Driver will play a role in the spin-off miniseries, the identity of which we do not know for the time being. But, whatever this character is, Driver will appear again, most likely in the major The Witcher drama alongside actor Henry Cavill.
While revealing her new character in the TUDUM event, Minnie said she could not share many details about her role. Still, she did inform the fans that she would be playing a “pivotal role” in connecting the prequel to the main timeline.

Accompanying Minnie were her fellow co-stars Michelle Yeoh, Laurence O’Fuarain, and Sophia Brown. Each actor in the event shared a fun fact about their respective characters. For example, Laurence informed the viewers about his character’s mysterious tattoos. And Michelle told the viewers how she chose the eye color of her character all by herself.
