Netflix has reportedly started the production of the Enola Holmes sequel, which unites Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill again.

This will not come as a surprise for those who have been waiting for updates on the sequel to Enola Holmes. Ever since Netflix released the first movie back in September 2020, people have been waiting for a sequel to the original Enola Holmes movie. It was immensely popular on Netflix, and there were plenty more books to adapt the story from. Therefore, a sequel seemed highly possible. Some rumors held that Netflix was going to make a sequel, and it’s now official. The Enola Holmes sequel is in the works.

“I can’t wait to collaborate again with my Enola Holmes family! Enola holds a special place in my heart – she’s strong, fearless, intelligent, and brave,” Millie Bobby Brown said according to Deadline. “I look forward to fans seeing how her journey continues!”

The first movie was based on the first novel from Nancy Springer’s critically acclaimed book series The Enola Holmes Mysteries. We assume that Netflix is going to base the second movie on the second novel, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady.

The movie and the book series tell about Sherlock Holmes’ exceptional sister Enola Holmes.

Millie Bobby Brown (Enola) and Henry Cavill (Sherlock) are going to be in the sequel to Enola Holmes, expectedly. We’re reportedly going to see Henry Cavill play more in the sequel. We do not know about the newcomers to the cast yet.

Director Harry Bradbeer is going to return for the sequel. Scriptwriter Jack Thorne is expected to pen the sequel as well. The production process is expected to start by the end of 2021. However, we’re short of details on that.

We do not know the release date of Enola Holmes 2 yet. However, it seems like mid-late 2022 is a good release window for Netflix if they start filming the movie by the end of this year. That hugely depends on Millie Bobby Brown’s schedule for Stranger Things season 4 as well.

We’ll have to wait for the official announcements to say anything precise about the release date.
