Michael G. Wilson Drops the Age for the Next Bond, Does Henry Cavill Qualify?

Daniel Craig has been playing James Bond down to the last cell ever since 2006 in Casino Royale. Five movies and a BAFTA Award nomination later, Daniel Craig has finally decided to bid goodbye to his dapper tuxedo look in James Bond movies. The shoes left by the actor are so big, that almost half of the award-winning Hollywood actors combine are not able to fill them. From the Netflix period romance series star Rege Jean Page to Harry Styles and Henry Cavill, all are in the race. But while attending the Bond event orchestrated by the British Film Institute, long-time producer Michael G. Wilson finally gave a hint to narrow down the search for the next 007.

What are the age criteria for the next James Bond according to Michael G. Wilson?

While fans cannot speculate who the next Bond is going to be, Michael G. Wilson did not spare us much information. The producer who has been a part of the James Bond franchise ever since 1977 revealed the preferred age of the actor who will be playing the role of the iconic 007. Furthermore, the producer talked about how choosing younger actors is out of the question.

The reason is that James Bond already has years of experience in the field. Speaking to Baz Bamigboye, Michael said ” Remember, Bond’s already a veteran. He’s had some experience. He’s a person who has been through the wars, so to speak. He isn’t some kid out of high school that you can bring in and start off”. Well, looks like  Tom Holland is definitely out of the race.

That’s why it works for a thirty-something” the producer said. Looks like Tom Hardy and Idris Elba will also have to sit this one out. However, there is one actor who seems destined to play the role.

Another fact that plays in favor of Henry Cavill playing the next James Bond is the AI device that chose to be Daniel Craig’s successor. Considering Cavill’s love for playing the role and the fact that he is a geeky genius who isn’t to say that Cavill did not hack the device?
