Lost in Space season 3 will not be on Netflix in August 2021
Lost in Space fans will have to wait for more as season 3 isn’t slated to come to Netflix in the following month.
Lost in Space is a Netflix Original science-fiction adventure series that’s about the Robinson family, who crashes and lands on an alien planet. The series takes place thirty years ahead in the future. The Robinsons are among the families who are selected to go to the space. However, things go wrong and they find themselves in a hostile environment. The family starts to try to stay alive against all odds on the alien planet that they crashlanded on. The story of Lost in Space is based on a 1969 series of the same name.
The series made its debut on Netflix in April 2018. The second season made its way to the streaming service in December 2019. Fans have been waiting for news about the third season since then.

The third season of Lost in Space finally started filming in September 2020 and wrapped up in January 2021. Therefore, many fans were expecting a release date around August or September 2021.
This expectation is most likely going to be null and void as the new season isn’t coming in August 2021. We do not have a teaser or a trailer yet, so we might also rule off September, too.
So, when can we see how Robinsons will move on in their journey?
Well, as we mentioned before, our expected release date was around August or September 2021. However, it seems the crew couldn’t quite pull it off, which leaves us with a later release date than expected.
Even though we don’t think the new season will come out very soon, 2022 is not a likely release date. That’s because they previously announced a release in 2021. So, Q4 2021 seems like the best option for Netflix to release Lost in Space season 3 right now.
You can expect the new season to drop in October, November, or December 2021. Meanwhile, let’s check out what the cast and crew think about the new episodes of Lost in Space.
As you probably know, the third season will be the end of Lost in Space. We will not see any more seasons of the series after that unless someone magically revives the series.
However, the final installment will put a satisfying end to the series. That comes from the showrunner and the writers, who planned everything from the beginning.

“I mean you know Robinson’s family will go on forever. But the story that we started with a pilot with the robots and everything else we want to have, we know what the ending is,” said the co-writer Matt Sazama. “There’s a very satisfying hopefully conclusion to that story. More stories then can happen after that,” he added.
Burk Sharpless, on the other hand, said: “One thing you can definitely expect to see in the final season – strong women. It’s an element of the show that’s been there since the inception, and we expect it to be even more pronounced in season three.”
The showrunner Zack Estrin had something to say about the final season, too: “From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle, and end.”
