Here is everything we currently know about season 3 of Netflix‘s popular science-fiction adventure series Lost in Space.

Lost in Space is a Netflix Original science-fiction adventure show telling of the Robinson family, who crashlands on an alien planet and try to survive there. The series is set thirty years ahead in the future, where space colonization is real. The Robinson family is among those who are selected to go to space, however, they go off-route and find themselves in somewhere they were not supposed to be in. They try to stay alive against all odds in that not-very-friendly environment. The story is based on a 1969 series of the same name.

Lost in Space currently has two seasons on Netflix. The series debuted in April 2018 with the first season. The second season, on the other hand, aired on Netflix in December 2019. The seasons have ten episodes each, running for from 39 minutes to 65 minutes. Netflix announced the renewal of Lost in Space for season 3 in March 2020. Fans have been waiting for the new season to air since then, but when is it coming to Netflix? Here’s everything we currently know about Lost in Space season 3.

The Robinson family is going to be back as expected. Expect to see Molly Parker, Toby Stephens, Taylor Russell, Maxwell Jenkins, and Mina Sundwall in the next season of Lost in Space.

The villains June Harris and Don West, played by Parker Posey and Ignacio Serricchio, will be back for Lost in Space season 3 as well.

Sibongile Mlambo will be in the third season too, with a regular role. She previously played Angela in the first season.

We currently do not know anything about a new cast member.

The third season of Lost in Space is going to give us a great, firm finale given the remarks from the writers and relevant people. They will not leave us with a cliffhanger.

The writers already knew the ending of the story back in 2019.

“I mean you know Robinson’s family will go on forever. But the story that we started with a pilot with the robots and everything else we want to have, we know what the ending is,” said the co-writer Matt Sazama.

“There’s a very satisfying hopefully conclusion to that story. More stories then can happen after that,” he added.

Burk Sharpless, on the other hand, had the following to say.

“One thing you can definitely expect to see in the final season – strong women. It’s an element of the show that’s been there since the inception, and we expect it to be even more pronounced in season three.”

The showrunner Zack Estrin said:

“From the beginning, we’ve always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy. A three-part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end.”

While announcing the renewal of the series, Netflix said the new season would be released in 2021. Halfway through the year, it still isn’t here.

We know that the filming process wrapped up in early 2021. Given the post-production process, they would need some time to release the next season.

We already know that it’s coming in 2021, but Q4 does not seem like a good bet, as it has a stacked lineup. Besides, they wouldn’t need that much time anyway.

Netflix is most probably going to release Lost in Space season 3 in Q3 2021, meaning we can watch it around August or September. July is on the table too, but don’t get your hopes up as we still do not have a teaser.
