Locke & Key Season 3: Updates, News, And What To Expect
Production for Locke & Key season 3 was already finished by Netflix before season 2 was released. So it makes us question; how long do we all have to wait before we see the Locke family return on their key-finding quest?
When the last episode of a season is titled “Cliffhanger”, you know Netflix is in a mood to tease you. The last episode of Locke & Key season 2 has brilliantly set up the next season of the show; which people are expecting to be released in spring 2022. With even more keys, magic, and crazy characters; season 3 is going to be a literal blast and I honestly can not wait for it.

The usual drill with Netflix is that it waits for a show to end and sees the responses from the audience to decide the future of the show; but with Locke & Key, season 1 was enough to make Netflix invest in this magical and mysterious show. This gave the creators of the show to work more elaborately and even justify why the final episode of the second season was called “Cliffhanger.”
So yes, Locke & Key season 3 is definitely happening. With the production for the season already finished; season 3 of the Netflix Original is expected to arrive sometime during the spring of 2022.
What we know about the story
The show is surpassing the original graphic novel Locke & Key created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez; even though the main villain of the show Dodge was killed, the show has set up (with a little help from Eden) a new villain Captain Frederick Gideon to bug the Locke family. Gideon, a British soldier who was possessed by the very first demon who made his way from the portal.

Season 3 of the show will, without a doubt, explore the consequences of Gideon’s return. We will witness the Locke family discover more keys, maybe forge a few, and fight this evil soldier from the past.

The lead cast of the show is, of course, returning, but there are a few who have said bye to the Locke & Key Universe; Genevieve Kang, Lasla De Oliveira, and Griffin Gluck will be leaving the show following the deaths of their characters. Brendan Hines’ Josh Bennett and his daughter Jamie (played by Liyou Abere) will most probably become major characters. Well, without a doubt there will be a few surprises for us in Locke & Key season 3.
