League of Legends developer Riot Games and Netflix have announced a new animated series titled Arcane with a short video teasing it.

Riot Games announced many various big projects last year to celebrate its 10th year. Those projects included many games like VALORANT and more upcoming ones alongside a new animated series. We have not heard from that series for a long time. Meanwhile, Netflix released its popular Dota 2 anime which proved that video game animations are more than welcome on Netflix. Now, Netflix and Riot Games shared the official announcement video for their new animated series Arcane.

They did not announce when they’re going to release it for certain. However, we have a release window that’s relatively soon.

The animated series is going to be about a story from League of Legends lore. In the short announcement video, we see Jinx and Vi in action. We know from the game’s background that those two have a history. While Vi is a policewoman working to protect Piltover, Jinx is a loose cannon, or punk, who likes to break havoc. Jinx is known for pulling some “pranks” on Piltover’s wealthy class, and those pranks can sometimes be criminally dangerous. Vi, on the other hand, is someone who gets things done. She is known as “The Piltover Enforcer.” We will probably see champions like Caitlyn who are related to Vi and Jinx’s story in Arcane.

We will probably get to know the story better when we get an official teaser or a trailer.

Netflix describes its new animated series:

From the creators of League of Legends comes a new animated series, Arcane. Set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions-and the power that will tear them apart.
