Johnny Depp is ready to leave behind the courtroom drama and return to cinemas. The actor is one of the most well-liked icons in the industry, known for his wide range of roles. But mostly for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The actor was barred from several projects due to his domestic case with former wife and Aquaman actress Amber Heard.

Johnny Depp set to play this role in an upcoming French film
Depp is ready to set the screens on fire with his comeback as King Louis XV for a French film. As per yahoo.com, the first photos of the film are out, showing off the actor in a serious and regal role. It is to be directed by a French director named Maïwenn. She will be playing the titular lead alongside Depp as well. A source told PEOPLE that the movie is set to release at the 2023 Cannes film festival. The actor’s initial photo with a blindfold was released by the production houses WhyNotProductions and France Télévisions. The film also casts Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Melvil Poupaud, Noémie Lvovsky, Pascal Greggory, and India Hair among others.
His last film saw him in the role of a photographer W. Eugene Smith for the movie Minamata. Though the movie never really came up in theatres, it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. He is also set to get behind the cameras to bring a movie about the Italian painter and sculptor, Modigliani onto the big screen.
