Unfortunately, Netflix has already announced that The Queen’s Gambit is a limited series. So that’s that then and the fans should not get their hopes up as the game ends here.

According to the Deadline, executive producer Scott Frank claimed, “I feel like we told the story we wanted to tell, and I worry — let me put it differently — I’m terrified that if we try to tell more, we would ruin what we’ve already told.”

Who all are in The Queen’s Gambit?

The Queen’s Gambit was inspired by Walter Tevis’s novel of the same name. It focused on Beth Harmon’s journey from orphan and chess prodigy to world-renowned chess champion. Anya Taylor Joy, as Beth Harmon, stunned everyone with her portrayal of the character.

The other supporting cast included Bill Camp as Mr. William Shaibel, Moses Ingram as Jolene, Christiane Siadel as Helen Deardorff, Rebecca Root as Miss Lonsdale, Chloe Pirrie as Alice Harmon, Akemnji Ndifornyen as Mr. Fergusson, Harry Melling as Harry Beltik, Patrick Kennedy as Allston Wheatley, and Marielle Heller as Alma Wheatley.

The show was nominated for 18 Emmy awards, including Anthology Series and Outstanding Lead Actress.

Anya claimed she would love to play the character of Beth again. She said to Town and Country, “I adore the character, and I would certainly come back if I was asked to but I do think we leave Beth in a good place.”

Even Harry Melling, who plays the character of Harry Beltik, added, “It’d be good, right, a Queen’s Gambit part two? The place we end in the limited series is the place we end in the book. I don’t know if there can be another one, but stranger things have happened.”

Why is The Queen’s Gambit season 2 canceled?

Tevis, in an interview, told The New York Times, “I consider ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ a tribute to brainy women. I like Beth for her bravery and intelligence. In the past, many women have had to hide their brains, but not today.’’

The creators are satisfied where they left things. So, if the fans are still dreaming about the second season, they can dream as much as they want, but another season is not coming up on Netflix.

Director Scott Frank told Entertainment Weekly, “This was the single best experience I’ve had in a 30-some-odd year career full of really nice experiences. So it’s saying a lot. I have no idea how people are going to take it, but it’s the first time I’m willing to admit just how happy I am. Normally I’m afraid to ever say that.”

Is no season 2 of The Queen’s Gambit a good thing? Should they continue the story with fans starting a campaign for the same?
