There is no doubt that Barbarians of the best and most popular historical TV series on Netflix. Naturally, the fans of the show are waiting for season 2 to hit the platform. When will the German Netflix Original series land on the popular streaming service with its second season?
The show invites viewers on a historical journey throughout Roman Empire during A.D. 9. The brilliant show depicts the iconic Battle of Teutoburg Forest and the joining forces of Thusnelda and Arminius. It also shows the brutal war between Roman Empire and Germanic tribes in an accurate way. So the series is a solid watch for those who enjoy historical drama series.
The first season of the Barbarians was released back on October 23, 2020. After receiving critical acclaim and gaining huge popularity in lots of other regions, Netflix renewed the series for a second season. It managed to stay in the top 10 charts of different regions for weeks. So it was only natural for the streaming giant to order another season. With that said, let&#8217;s dive in and wrap up everything we know regarding the release date of Barbarians season 2.
<h4>When will Barbarians season 2 come to Netflix?</h4>

The epic storyline of the series will continue with the new episodes as Rome tries to raise new armies against Arminius and other Germanic tribes. The battles will take place in the Rhine as well. So the new season will be much more brutal for sure.
Although Netflix has not made any official announcements about a release date, it seems like the second season will not arrive this year. Knowing that the cast and the crew have not started the production yet, it is safe to say that we will have to wait for some time. The earliest possible release date for the new season might be around Summer or Fall 2022. Even the summer months are a bit optimistic as Netflix has a lot on its plate.
On the other hand, in a recent interview given by Jeanne Goursaud (Thusnelda), the actress stated that the production will start in <a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/list-of-new-releases-on-netflix-in-august-2021/">August 2021</a>. We are not sure if this is official, so maybe take this info with a pinch of salt.
<h4>Who is in the season 2 cast?</h4>
The main cast of the series will probably return in the new chapter of Barbarians. That includes Laurence Rupp, Jeanne Goursaud, David Schütter, and many others. We might also see a couple of new faces in the next season.
