Netflix‘s thriller series is taking back from where it left off with its first season. The teaser trailer for Into the Night season 2 is finally here, and we have a release date.

Into the Night is a post-apocalyptic thriller series with an interesting premise. The radiation from the sun causes a disaster, and the remaining humans have to avoid sunlight at all costs to stay alive. Therefore, a former NATO soldier hijacks a random plane and orders the pilot to fly to the West. Chaos ensues as there are all kinds of passengers on the plane, each worried for their own survival. Thus begins the passengers’ thriller story to try to stay alive by constantly flying.

The series made its debut on Netflix in May 2020, just when people were stuck at their homes, trying to find something to binge-watch. Into the Night proved itself to be the perfect thriller to watch at once. Netflix subscribers adored the series and it just went viral.

Therefore, Netflix renewed Into the Night for a second season in July 2020. We’ve been waiting for anything since then. A teaser, trailer, or a broad release date announcement would do just fine. Fortunately, we finally have a teaser for Into the Night’s next season. Not only that, but Netflix also announced the exact release date for Into the Night.

Into The Night Season 2 will be available on Netflix on September 8th, 2021. Be careful about the rest of the article contains some spoilers. So, if you haven’t watched the first season, go give it a binge on Netflix.

Netflix announced the release date of the new season with the teaser. The teaser also showed us some radio chatter and our team seems to be in trouble. Below is the synopsis of the new season.

“After finding refuge deep underground, the passengers contend with a flurry of new crises – and rising tensions with their military hosts.”

As you might remember, the crew took refugees in an underground shelter in which there were a lot of Russian soldiers. We thought they were safe at the end of season 1, but the teaser shows us otherwise. It seems the Russians are not very friendly towards Sylvie and her team. The speaking ones might be from somewhere else, too.

It’s just a teaser, after all. We’ll learn more about season 2 when Netflix releases a trailer. As to when that can happen, we say any time. We usually see trailers a month before the releases. Well, we have less than a month until the release, and we just got a teaser. So, you can expect the official trailer of Into the Night season 2 to drop in around 1-2 weeks.

We have to know how the story will wrap up in season 2 to answer that question. If Netflix had initially planned to make the show go on for more seasons, we’ll inevitably see some cliffhangers at the end of season 2. This will pave the way for a possible third season.

Renewals usually happen at Netflix a month after the release. So, if Into the Night season 2 becomes as successful as the first season, you can expect a renewal announcement around early October.
