There isn’t an empty day with Netflix, is it? Not at all, because I Care A Lot landed on Netflix today. Also, starring Rosamund Pike, Chris Messina, and Peter Dinklage. But for the ones who don’t know it or want to remember, here is everything about the movie including its synopsis, cast, a little review -for you to make up your mind to watch,- trailer, and more.

In addition to the visible benefits of #MeToo, it is certain that it opened up space for a great opportunism show in the cinema and not only that but also made the stranger we call the “strong woman” well unrecognizable. The person we call a strong woman is really a stranger. Few filmmakers have bothered to understand and explain her, though. And nowadays, there are gracious films jumping from every corner that seems to solve her great secret. But unfortunately, they are mostly wrong.

I Care A Lot might sound like those movies, in which, groups of women engage in some “masculine” work. For example, a female agent in leather pants with high-heeled shoes makes the whole world shiver, boasts of being an example of so-called little girls, wanders around in a metal swimsuit, but also goes after revenge too. It’s a fact that it’s been putting its life on its teeth to benefit #MeToo. But creating a woman character like that isn’t the way to achieve that, though.

The story revolves around Marla as she runs a devious scam. Somehow, she becomes the legal guardian of rich, elderly individuals and siphons their money into her own account. However, when Marla sets her sights on an old woman named Jennifer, she quickly realizes that she’s in over her head.

My review for the movie:

I Care a Lot tries to create an intelligent and untouchable female character whose only weakness is the ambition for money. They also seem to give her a difference that is far from the famous female sensuality. J Blakeson‘s formula for the strong woman doesn’t sound natural and good, even if he might have tried to create something good. Blakeson only makes her look like her feelings are almost taken away by creating a character that is just nine lively, four-cornered, and homosexual.

On the other hand, It shouldn’t be overlooked that Blakeson, who built an intriguing crime movie, made things a lot easier for Marla, obviously. Bad guys becoming clumsy when they are almost about to get scary, sweet coincidences happening somehow, logical errors that are changing the course of the story, and more were all happening in the movie and that makes it really weird actually. But still, you can’t escape from the hammer of I Care A Lot somehow. Thinking of Marla as a fairy tale witch, as she treats the old people she “owns” like an evil stepmother, can raise the appeal of the story from nothing, that’s for sure. Anyway, this story still needs a little more fantasy for real, I guess.

I Care A Lot does really have an all-star cast. You might want to watch the movie just even for them.
