What could be a “huge milestone” for a multi-hyphenated and successful individual like Brown? Turns out the answer is simple: receiving the first copy of her upcoming book. It was announced earlier that the Stranger Things actress was penning down a novel, Nineteen Steps, based on her family’s experiences during World War II. Set to release on September 12th, the book’s final cover art is already out and Brown shared it with her fans on her Instagram.
Along with sharing her artwork, she also marketed Nineteen Steps, calling it a book about “love, longing, and loss,” while assuring that it will keep the reader hooked from the first page. Notably, the book is set in the backdrop of the 1943 Bethnal Green tube disaster, exploring an intense love story. Having heard stories of that era from her family, Brown was inspired to pen the book.
Brown’s debut novel was edited by Liz Stein and picked up by Harper Collins’ imprint William Morrow Books. Despite the initial mixed reactions to her announcement in March, fans seem to be excited in the comment section of the latest Instagram post. And why won’t they? So far, Brown has only excelled in whatever she has tried her hands on. Keeping that in mind, the book might just be a page-turner. We will certainly know one way or the other in September.
Meanwhile, the book is not the only thing we can expect from Brown this year. A lot of things are ahead for her.

A lot of things, it would seem. On the professional side, with the launch of Florence by Mills Coffee, her brand is certainly seeing much growth. She is also all set to get started with season 5 of Stranger Things, while writers are still working through the remaining episodes of the season. Meanwhile, she has been filming for her upcoming sci-fi movie, The Electric State, set to release in 2024. She also has The Girls I’ve Been and The Thing About Jellyfish in her kitty. This year will also see the release of her next Netflix project, Damsel, set to release in October.
In her personal life, she is currently enjoying her engagement with Jake Bongiovi, which she announced in April. The couple recently held an engagement celebration, where they posed in front of a display that had “Mr. and Mrs. Bongiovi” written on it. Clearly, there’s a lot in store for Brown and the book’s cover art release is a welcomed addition.
