Prince Harry to fly to London to present the WellChild award

Prince Harry, who is rumored to have a reunion with King Charles, will soon be heading to the English Capital for an award ceremony held by The WellChild press, a charity whom he is a founder of. The former Duke of Sussex would present the award to Blake McCaughey. The fifteen-year-old teenager who lives in Tandragee was recently named the winner of the prestigious WellChild Awards 2023. Among the hundreds of nominations from across the United Kingdom, WellChild picked McCaughey as the winner in the category of Inspirational Young Person this year.

McCaughey, who will receive the award this year, suffers from an incredibly rare and complex genetic condition. In addition to that, the 15-year-old has weak muscles and struggles with eating and drinking as well. Every year, the foundation celebrates and awards the struggles of young children who suffer from severe illness and medical conditions. 

Meanwhile, McCaughey’s mother is very excited to fly to London and meet the Duke of Sussex. Christine took to social media to reveal that she and Blake are elated to meet the Duke as they fly to London. Moreover, she praised Blake for his constant determination to battle his illness and not give up.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry previously had an “emotional moment” during his past appearance at the WellChild award ceremony.

When the former Duke of Sussex broke down at the event for seriously ill children

This year would not be the first time Prince Harry will be presenting the award for the WellChild event. Back in 2019, he presented the award to Most Inspiring Child, Ages 4 to 6, to a little boy and girl. Moreover, the former Duke of Sussex delivered a speech at the event, talking about how the WellChild Awards had changed his outlook on life. 

While speaking about the awards, he opened up about his experiences of being a father. He revealed how the WellChild charity continues to inspire him every year before taking a pause to collect himself. In addition to that, Harry credited the awards for giving him a sense of optimism and direction in life.
