“You have your space being…” – Sydney Sweeney Describes Her ‘Reality’ Performance as “Claustrophobic”
Sydney Sweeney is all set to bring Reality through her upcoming film of the same name. It is a true crime drama that revolves around Reality Winner, a former Air Force member, and the whistleblowing NSA translator. Miss Winner was incarcerated for sharing classified government information with the media without authorization. Sweeney prepared thoroughly for the role and shared her experience recently at the film’s New York premiere.
The film has already witnessed a grand premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival, but it’s time for Hollywood to see it. Hence, a mega premiere of the film occurred in NYC, where the whole cast and crew made an appearance. On that occasion, Sweeney spoke about the film and her process of channeling the personality of the real Reality Winner. It turns out that it was really challenging.

Sweeney kept her true opinion about the film and called her performance “claustrophobic.” According to Indie Wire, she said, “You have your space being invaded and as the minutes go on, the walls just feel like they’re shrinking in and her world is fully closing in on her.”
The Euphoria actress said that it was difficult for her to envision witnessing and experiencing what Reality went through. She also confirmed that Reality’s mother and sister have watched the film. However, she accepted the fact that it would be challenging for them to endure watching it unfold in real-time once more.
Sweeney summed up her experience with the film in a few, yet powerful, words. But this is not the only revelation she made about it.

Before getting the film, the actress did not know anything about what Winner went through in real life. She revealed that when she first saw the script, she was stunned by the fact that it was based on a real transcript. Sweeney accepted the fact that it is really hard for someone to write conversations that are so realistic.
Apparently, the director of the film, Tina Satter, wrote a play called ‘Is This a Room?’ based on the real FBI interrogation transcript of Winner. She later converted it into a film script, which turned out to be brilliant.
