The master of many skills, Arnold Schwarzenegger is a trailblazer for those that rise from small towns with big dreams. While his homeland of Austria offered him a rather humble start, there was nothing humble about what he would go on to achieve. After finding immense success as a bodybuilder and actor, he also ventured into the tricky area of politics. However, his wave of victories would continue as he managed to bag the position of Governor of California in 2003. 

These particular skills from his time as a politician resurfaced a few years back when he faced off with an American actress while representing Austria.

The Terminator co-stars go head-to-head over snacks

In 2020, Linda Hamilton who portrayed Sarah Connor in The Terminator alongside Schwarzenegger engaged in the most amusing face-offs with him. When LadBible pitched them against each other in a competition to see which country’s snacks were better, things got interesting. Although the 76-year-old managed a landslide victory with Austria’s top-notch snacks, he still deemed both countries winners. This led to Hamilton calling him “such a politician” for being too neutral. 

While Linda Hamilton had massively impressed Schwarzenegger on their first meet with her muscles, the snacks that she represented that day clearly had the opposite effect. Yet, the ever-gracious Governator had no qualms about sharing the win with her. Not for any shortage of love for Austria though. After all, he considers himself as much an Austrian as he is an American. 

Earlier this year, the Austrian Oak took a trip back to his homeland for a very special cause which led to him meeting some special friends too!

Arnold Schwarzenegger returned to Austria to host this

Back in May, Schwarzenegger left for Austria to join the Austria World Summit conference that he himself pioneered. Since 2017, the Kindergarten Cop actor hosts the event each year with the aim to help the country achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. While there, he even shared a heart-warming click that showed him enjoying a good time with some childhood friends that he made all the way back in elementary school!

Meanwhile, he was also joined by the Federal President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen at the summit. Among other things, the primary focus of this year’s event was to encourage discussions about climate-related action. Evidently, the 7-time Mr. Olympia champion is just as proud and concerned of his Austrian heritage as he is of his American side.
