Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt are undoubtedly an incredible acting duo. A recent proof of this is the blockbuster film Oppenheimer, where both the actors starred in pivotal roles. In addition to being an incredible pair on-screen, Blunt and Murphy also share a great bond in real life. However, despite knowing each other for years, Murphy had a tough time writing an email to Blunt’s husband, John Krasinski.

John Krasinski and Cillian Murphy worked together in the popular horror film A Quiet Place II back in 2020. However, before that, even though they were aware of each other’s works, the duo had never collaborated. And interestingly, the Irish actor once struggled to praise Krasinski for his work due to a peculiar reason. 

Why Cillian Murphy had a tough time writing an email to John Krasinski

Released in 2018, A Quiet Place was a massive hit among the fans. The film was a huge success and gathered positive reviews worldwide. Among the many fans who loved the John Krasinski starrer was Cillian Murphy. Owing to Krasinski’s incredible performance in the film, Murphy was all praises for the actor. The Irish icon even decided to write a congratulations email to the director after watching the first installment, A Quiet Place. However, as surprising as it sounds, despite writing an email to appreciate the director, the actor never sent it.

In an interview with The Guardian, Murphy revealed he was “not bold enough” to send the email. Moreover, the actor admitted, “I got a bit embarrassed,” before revealing that he felt, “He’s going to think I want something.” Even though Murphy never sent the email, John and his wife already had plans to cast him in the film’s sequel. Interestingly, the duo were in awe of the actor’s performance in Peaky Blinders as Thomas Shelby. 

Blunt and Krasinski decided to bring the Irish actor on board for the film’s sequel to play an important role, Emmett, in their movie. Meanwhile, after working with Murphy on two films, Blunt recently shared her experience of working with the actor.

Oppenheimer was undoubtedly one of the most successful films of the year. In addition to a gripping storyline, every member of the cast delivered an incredible performance. And a while ago, lead actress Blunt shed some light on her working experience with Murphy. 

A Quiet Place star has revealed on various occasions how she shared a unique chemistry with the Irish actor. And despite being two feet apart in terms of personalities, through Oppenheimer promotions, it became clear how their hearts are in sync. Apart from Blunt, co-star Matt Damon was also in awe of the Peaky Blinders star following his flawless performance in the film.
