Back in 2019, Cosimo Fusco finally gave fans some insight into his role as Paolo on Friends in an interview on Today. While the character was not around for very long, only four short episodes, he ended up leaving a burning mark in her shared apartment on the show. Although not much was known about the actor who played the role initially, as he was more of an Italian star back then, he ended up talking about his role in detail in the interview.
During the conversation, he told the interviewer that he was “skeptical” about the role at first, as his “English was not as good” as it had become. However, that changed once they told him that he could stick to his Italian. Once he took on the role, Fusco revealed that he was able to say anything he wanted without a script as long as it was in his language.
While that ultimately worked out in his favor, the actor also ended up addressing the romantic scene in which he spoke lovingly to Jennifer Aniston while showing her the moon and the stars.

In the same interview with Today, Cosimo Fusco opened up about his moment by the window with Jennifer Aniston in one of the Friends episodes. In it, he was seen pointing out of her New York City apartment window at the night sky. While he thought “Ross’ blah blah blah blah” was truly “genius,” it was his kiss with the actress that “became more important in the years to come.”
He continued by saying that the diva had gone on to become “a very important, talented actress,” which is not wrong given her current show, The Morning Show. However, when they worked together, he thought she was “an adorable young woman.”
