Ye Accused of ‘Blatant Theft’ in Latest Copyright Lawsuit Claim Reports
Ye, previously called Kanye West, is no stranger to controversy and legal battles. The renowned rapper and producer has a history of sparking debates and landing in courtrooms. From sparking public feuds with fellow celebrities to facing backlash over his provocative lyrics and actions, Ye's unapologetic approach often leads to clashes. Additionally, as of the latest reports, he is currently battling numerous copyright infringement lawsuits, with artists and producers accusing him of unauthorized sampling and borrowing.

According to the latest Billboard report, the case filed in Los Angeles federal court claimed Ye incorporated elements of 'MSD PT2' by artists Khalil Abdul-Rahman Hazzard, Sam Barsh, Dan Seeff, and Josh Mease into his songs ‘Hurricane’ and ‘Moon’ without permission. Despite being denied a license, Ye allegedly used the instrumental track, and “decided to steal it” which reached the top 20 on the Hot 100 in 2021.
The lawsuit against Ye alleges that his unauthorized use of 'MSD PT2' is a brazen infringement of intellectual property rights. The plaintiffs' attorney Oren Warshavskys argued that it is not just about unpaid fees, but about artists' rights to control their work. Ye's actions were deemed "shameless" and "blatant" as he credited the song's creators as songwriters despite their refusal to collaborate, highlighting the severity of the alleged infringe
Speaking of lawsuits and copyright infringements, this is not the first time the rapper has found himself in trouble.

The lawsuit accuses Ye of stealing the song, seeking damages and profits from the unauthorized use. He has a history of sampling controversies, with previous lawsuits settled out of court. The case highlights the ongoing debate over sampling and copyright in music. In 2022, Ye faced multiple lawsuits over alleged illegal sampling in his music.
The rapper was sued for using a song by Boogie Down Productions in 'Life of the Party', and for incorporating an uncleared snippet of Marshall Jefferson's 'Move Your Body' in 'Flowers'. Additionally, a Texas pastor sued Ye for allegedly sampling from his sermon in 'Come to Life', highlighting Ye's ongoing legal battles over copyright infringement. Not only this, the rapper has been accused of workplace abuse as well. While his album delays, his lawsuits only tend to increase.
