“Ya just never know”- Halle Berry Showers Gratitude Over Matthew Vaughn’s Year-Old Revelations on “shady” Incidents in ‘X-Men’ Films

Fame is a wild ride, and even in the glittery world of La La Land, there are shadowy corners lurking beyond the blinding spotlight. But when stardom dares to throw shade at the seasoned pros, it makes one reflect whether any of it is true at all. One such thing happened when Matthew Vaughn spilled about some seriously sketchy shenanigans behind the scenes of the beloved X-Men films, all involving the fabulous Oscar-winning queen, Halle Berry.

Berry, in turn, decided to thank Vaughn all the while, retrospecting how there are still so many secrets people would never uncover if it were not for a few good apples in the bunch.

Halle Berry recently hopped onto X to re-share Matthew Vaughn's revelation about the X-Men films during the 2023 New York Comic-Con.“Ya just never know the shady sh– going on behind ya back,” Berry wrote, giving a shout-out to Vaughn. It turns out Vaughn was almost at the helm of X-Men: The Last Stand. He decided to bail when he discovered the studio had planted a draft decoy to lure Berry into the film, only to trash it later.

Vaughn recalled spotting a “fatter” script in an executive's office. When asked about it, the executive waved him off. But Vaughn was not about to let that slide and snatched it up to check out the first page, which had a scene of Storm whipping up a thunderstorm in Africa to save thirsty children. At that point, Berry had not signed on for the movie yet, but when the executive casually mentioned that they were planning to scrap the script once she came aboard, Vaughn recognized the red flag.

Last year, during his Comic-con presence, this was, however, not the only “shady” experience Vaughn revealed about the X-Men films.

Matthew Vaughn did not hold back at the New York Comic-Con in 2023 when he spilled the unexpected about the X-Men films. After sharing why he ditched X-Men: The Last Stand, he could not help but dive into another experience with the franchise. The genius behind X-Men: First Class was all set to stick around for the sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, but he chose to reveal how that went in Hollywood.

Vaughn could not help but throw some shade when he sarcastically pointed out how “Hollywood forgot” to mention that after he wrote the “da-- thing,” Bryan Singer had legal dibs to direct it first. While he has been shining a light on how studios operate, this incident was probably the final straw that sent him packing from Hollywood to dive into the Kingsman movies instead. And even though these tales are not exactly a glowing recall, Halle Berry seems pretty thankful that the cat is finally out of the bag.
