Wrexham’s latest run at the second division has been no less than a rollercoaster. The club went through bad news, ranging from failed transfers to injuries. Despite a shaky start to their season, the Red Dragons have already started showing promise in their performances. However, following multiple disappointing updates, the fans recently had something to be delighted about.

Not long ago, Wrexham’s star striker, Paul Mullin, made his much-awaited comeback at the Racecourse ground. While the news was a huge relief for the Wrexham fans, another exciting development took place for the Red Dragons.

One of the significant changes that the fans witnessed in Wrexham’s run this season was Ryan Reynolds‘ absence. Since the club returned to the Second Division, the Deadpool star was not present in any of the club’s fixtures. However, Wrexham’s latest fixture against Grimsby Town changed the scenario. Ryan Reynolds seemed to be in good spirits as he enjoyed the Red Dragons in action at the Racecourse. Meanwhile, the Welsh side did not fail to make the most of the actor’s first appearance as they put up an incredible show and scored a win by 3-0.

The Red Dragons had an incredible start as Ollie Palmer and William Boyle netted two goals to give the home side an early lead. Meanwhile, apart from the Free Guy‘s first appearance, even Paul Mullin made his debut this season. After subbing in for Wrexham in the previous fixture, the star striker started in the playing eleven for the first time since his lung injury. Wrexham currently stands at the 4th position in the second division.

Wrexham’s stint in the National League was undoubtedly a fairy tale run. The club performed flawlessly in almost every match they played. However, it was Grimsby Town that surely made the club’s run a little more challenging in 2022. Back in May 2022, Grimsby almost shattered the dream of promotion for Wrexham fans after defeating them in the National League semi-final.

Twelve months later, the two Welsh teams met at the second division after gaining promotion. Both the National League teams have been performing impressively. While Wrexham are unbeaten in the last five fixtures, Grimsby Town have only recorded one loss in their last five matches.
