The 54-year-old actor made a surprisingly rapid comeback after marking a tremendous fall of his character at the Academy Awards 2022 with a Bad Boys 4 announcement. While the massive range of this project was clear with the multi-million dollar budget, the fourth addition to the Bad Boys franchise marks something even bigger. It will make the franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence the actor’s biggest one yet.

The first movie premiered in 1994 to unbelievably big numbers at the box office. The sequel also lived up to the hype, and the franchise took the shape of soft padding whenever Will Smith faced a career lull.

Its already successful predecessors make Bad Boys 4 just the perfect movie for Fresh Prince’s comeback. But while Bad Boys 4 will make the franchise Smith’s biggest yet, it will take quite a lot for it to become the best.

Will Smith is counting on his previous blockbusters to scare away the doom of controversies that have followed him. Not only is he set to add Bad Boys 4 to his impressive catalog, but I Am Legend 2 is also in the making. However, so far, none of the franchises have been able to create the massive wave that his science-fiction comedy, Men In Black, did.

While almost half the size of the Bad Boys franchise, both the Men In Black movies were among the highest-grossing movies of the decade. The success was so magical that even the alien comedy franchise has not been able to recreate it.
