Will Smith Ushers a Wave of Nostalgia for His Fans With a ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Post
Will Smith is no athlete, but he sure knows how to play the social media game with finesse. Among the first celebrities to acknowledge back in the day that social media would be a game changer, Smith has always gone the extra mile to engage with his fans on social media platforms. Therefore, his massive multi-million following does not really come as a surprise. But the fact that these million followers are his devoted fans who have supported him for decades does.
The Oscar-winning actor, after enabling time travel for his fans at Coachella through his performance, recently took to Instagram to share a past. A stark contrast from the buff look he sports now, Smith had posted a picture of himself sans facial hair drowned in colorful baggy clothes, supposedly right off the sets of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

For fans who had already wept and screamed for his musical comeback after his Men In Black performance, this was no less than a salt rub on a fresh wound. However, the actor could not be anymore casual about it as he simply captioned the picture "92" and tagged the famous photographer Rob Galella.
Adding another layer of depth to his 90s-coded post was the use of the iconic Eric B. & Rakim track 'Dont' Sweat the Technique'. Smith could not have chosen a better track for the post as fans in the comments could not stop gushing about how effortlessly suave the Fresh Prince was.

One of the most applauded artist of the 90s Hip Hop, there is no explanation needed regarding why Will Smith often reminisces about the golden decade. Same goes for the fans who simply cannot get over the magic of his music as the Fresh Prince and his performance in the sitcom parodying his life. Summarizing the feelings of many, a fan wrote "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Best time to live," while another one wrote "Major Missing."
While many were deep diving into the past and making The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air references such as "Why don't he want me, man?", the one aspect that everyone took notice of was fashion. Known for his crazy sneakers collection at that time, Will Smith was quite the dresser. And fans left no doubt regarding the same as they flooded his comments with "Hip Hop gear King!" This way Will Smith continues to make sure that his legacy as both Will Smith and the Fresh Prince stays alive.
