The sci-fi film performed decently at the box office grossing almost $243 million around the world with a $130 million budget.

However, the I Am Legend star added that owing to his son Jaden’s involvement in the movie, his feelings about the film’s failure intensified. To add fuel to the fire, film Smith gave massive hits, including Hancock and Hitch, grossing almost $1000 million which After Earth could not match.

It might be surprising to know, but the aftermath of the film’s performance did not leave early. Strange as it sounds, the actor refused to star in the sequel of his incredibly successful film, Independence Day. However, Smith surely learned a valuable lesson in the process. Apart from this, the actor revealed how, following After Earth, his views toward success and craftsmanship completely changed.
Despite the movie not matching the box office collections of Fresh Prince’s previous movies, it has still found its place on the American OTT platform, Netflix after all these years.

Will Smith starer After Earth gets a new life on Netflix
A notorious huge bomb from one of the biggest stars in Hollywood has curiously found a new life on Netflix. As per reports by Slash film, After Earth returned to the screens after almost a decade on Netflix this May and made its way to the top 10 on the streamer’s charts.

The film follows a father and son Cypher and Kithai Raige, who crash land on Earth a thousand years after humans flee it following cataclysmic events. As Cypher injures himself, Kitai is left helpless as he treads himself on an unknown terrain.
