Will Smith is not putting all his eggs in one basket anymore. Alongside reviving his Hollywood career, the actor is also returning to his musical roots. After delivering one of the biggest blockbusters of 2024, Bad Boys: ride or Die, the Fresh Prince released his first proper single in years, 'You Can Make It', in the same month. However, the actor still believes that his Oscar ban needs to be lifted in order for him to make his way back into the good graces of the American public.

In the midst of this hustle, Will Smith is seeking some respite by immersing himself in a golden musical experience with legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Will Smith will be gracing Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration in Tuscany. This three-day event will celebrate Bocelli's third decade in the music business, taking place on July 15, 17, and 19. Although there is no confirmation whether Smith will perform at the event, the celebration has a star-studded lineup of many bigwigs from both the acting and music worlds. This concert is being filmed by Sam Wrench, the same filmmaker who was behind Taylor Swift's Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

This will be the second musical event Smith attends this month, following Janelle Monáe's show in Spain. Despite charming fans with his moves at these public appearances, Will Smith is aiming for the ultimate damage control: winning over the Oscar bosses. Recently, insiders told In Touch that the Oscar-winning actor's blockbuster success with Bad Boys: Ride or Die might just be enough to sway the Academy to lift his ban. However, not everyone is on the same page.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die became the eighth highest-grossing film of 2024. Ahead of the movie's release, there was a fear that fans' disappointment with Will Smith would negatively affect the movie's business. However, on the opening day itself, it became very clear that the Oscar fiasco did not come in the way of fans' genuine cinematic appreciation. However, Paul N. J. Ottosson told the Mirror that this Hollywood comeback is not enough for the Academy Awards to end its banishment for Smith.

The Oscar voter and former producer of the Academy said that Smith could only be welcomed back by them if "he accepts what he did was wrong". Smith has, in fact, apologized for his action in an apology video, but it has only ignited even more backlash. Nonetheless, with slowly making a comeback in the industry with his presence and projects, there is hope that the actor can win his audience back, even if he does not get to return to the biggest night in Tinseltown.
