Will Smith Eating Pasta Meme Makes a Return, With a Better Change This Time
Will Smith is one of the most memed stars in Hollywood. At the 2022 Oscars, while the whole fiasco left people stunned, it did not stop them from turning the scenario into a hilarious meme frenzy almost instantly. Even his fitness training sessions have been turned into a full-blown meme. But now, one of his most iconic memes, the pasta meme, has returned to haunt us all— the one even Smith himself parodied.
This time, though, the pasta meme was not just funny—it was also a little spooky as it was powered by very advanced AI technology.

Early last year, Will Smith posted a video on Instagram. It was a tongue-in-cheek jab at an AI-generated clip of him eating spaghetti that went viral in 2023. The original video was a mess. A warped, computer-generated Smith was seen shoveling spaghetti into his mouth in the most bizarre and unsettling way possible. And now, the pasta meme is back. But this time, it has leveled up. The new version looked way too real, as if Smith himself sat down for a massive spaghetti feast on camera. It was hilarious, but also a little unnerving.
Back in 2023, those spaghetti horror show videos were created with an AI tool called ModelScope. The technology was so clunky and ridiculous that it turned out to be unintentionally hilarious. People could not stop sharing them. Now, TikTok is full of parodies that compare the old videos to these hyper-realistic new ones. As for Smith, for the most part, he is a great sport about these memes. But there have been moments when certain memes have hit a nerve. Still, he has only ever admitted to finding one meme genuinely funny.
Back in 2019, Smith revealed how much he enjoyed one particular meme tied to one of his billion-dollar-grossing movies.

Will Smith gave one of the most beloved comedy characters, Genie, a fresh interpretation in Guy Ritchie’s live-action Aladdin adaptation. When the first look at Smith’s Genie dropped in a teaser trailer, the internet responded with a flood of memes. But rather than being offended, Smith found the reaction genuinely amusing.

“It was very funny,” Smith told Empire. Coming from an era without the internet, he added, “It’s a new thing that I’m trying to get a handle on.” Though Smith’s pasta meme videos are trending again, the silver lining is that at least this time, he is going viral for something that does not involve slapping.
