No one really imagined a 21st-century venture into the land of Barbie mania until Greta Gerwig decided to go neck and neck with the father of the atomic bomb as a theatrical opposition. Not only did Gerwig manage to curate the world of Barbie with Margot Robbie, but also made a compelling case for a box office frenzy worldwide. Despite the steep competition, it gave to its contemporaries with several nominations this award season, what shocked the fans was its leading lady missing the nomination for the Best Actress category for Oscar nominations.

While the snub was disappointing, it makes one wonder if this could affect Robbie’s attendance at the ceremony. 

Will Margot Robbie miss the Oscar ceremony?

The Oscar nominations might look all starlit, but Margot Robbie, not making the Best Actress nominee list, still finds the audience in a daze. As a result, worldwide speculation regarding her attendance at the 96th Oscar Awards is gushing whispers of predictions. While the actress was unsuccessful in bagging the nomination for that particular category, the reason why her appearance still counts as a good bet is that she remains a nominee as a producer for Barbie.

Furthermore, Barbie is also on the nominee list for the Best Picture category. Greta Gerwig, on the other hand, is a nominee for Best Adapted Screenplay. Also, a few days ago, when the Annual Oscars Nominee luncheon took place, Robbie was in attendance with her co-star, Ryan Gosling, and other Hollywood veterans. As the attendees even posed for the Annual photo, Robbie flaunted a Barbie-core outfit in baby pink. Hence, that amplifies the probability of her attendance. 

Although the reasons are many to take sides with Robbie’s definite attendance, one of the reasons which further adds to the same is the recent Oscars promo.

The Oscars promo in the weird Barbieland

After the global backlash following the Oscar snub for Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig, the Academy acknowledged the same with a hilarious promo for the event. Jimmy Kimmel, the host for this year’s Oscar, was also on the promo showcasing a hypothetically weird Barbieland. The promo further includes the Oscar-nominated Ryan Gosling, Kate McKinnon, and America Ferrera. 

In the promo, following a momentary disorientation, Kimmel tries to find his way to Hollywood. Enters weird Barbie aka McKinnon and offers to drop him. However, the drop is not without a few jabs on the nominees shortly after which the Robbie snub takes mention. After the revelation, both Gosling and Kimmel erupt in a scream fest while the promo ends with a Barbie-accurate conclusion. Hence, given the appearance and the consecutive mentions, chances definitely weigh heavily on Robbie’s entry mostly channeling the Barbiecore era yet again.
