From Tom Cruise trapped in the closet to Kanye West’s fishsticks, the long-running sitcom South Park has poked fun at countless celebrities. The show aimed at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in the episode that came nine months back. They depicted the former working royals as “dumb and stupid” trying to find peace in a small mountain town. While it did not specifically name the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the former actress reportedly found it “overwhelming” and “upsetting”.

Now new reports reveal that the royals of Buckingham Palace had the opposite reaction to what Markle felt.

Omid Scobie claims royals found the South Park episode amusing 

According to journalist Omid Scobie’s new book on the Royal Family, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a laugh while watching South Park that mercilessly mocked Prince Harry and Meghan Meghan in February. The author also claimed that King Charles branded his youngest son as “that fool” after he savaged royals in the Netflix documentary.

Royal experts, however, criticized this book for depicting the father-son duo in a negative light. “It’s totally rubbish to suggest William and the King would ever be at loggerheads,” author Phil Dampier stated. As per the Mirror’s report, the Spare author has also grown close with his brother and he will not do this to hurt him.

But if one believes Scobie’s new book, The Monarch has avoided Prince Harry’s urgent “meeting request.” Not to mention, he also revealed previously that the royal siblings have grown apart.

Prince Harry and Prince William have drifted apart from each other

On November 19, Royal biographer Omid Scobie told PEOPLE that things between Prince Harry and Prince Willaim were not great. In fact, they have not spoken after the release of Spare. The brothers who once were close have drifted apart and their relationship seems irreparable. The hurt and anger that exists between them have further complicated the situation.

In his memoir Spare, the 39-year-old mentioned how he and his brother argued when they reunited after the funeral of the late Prince Philip. “All at once, something shifted inside of me. I looked at Willy, really looked at him, maybe for the first time since we were boys,” he described. Meanwhile, this new statement from the writer might make things more challenging between the two.
