While Henry Cavill Waits on a Call, Barbie Director Greta Gerwig Voices Her Thought on Directing James Bond
Last month, Casino Royale director Martin Campbell revealed that Henry Cavill auditioned for James Bond. Fans have long been wanting that the actor gets this role as he has both caliber and experience. And the other reason is that the British superstar lost his previous roles, so it would be great if he got something iconic like it. However, fans have received no update on the matter since then and he is waiting for a callback. In the midst of this hope for his future, Greta Gerwig has talked about her prospect to direct the same project.
The American director has been making waves in the industry since she announced her highly acclaimed movie Barbie. The live-action adaptation of the doll world recently turned the internet upside down with its amazing story and stellar cast. For the promotions of the same, Greta Gerwig appeared on the Inside Total Film podcast.
In this interview, she talked about her new endeavors and if she is interested in James Bond. In her response, the Oscar-nominated director stated that she never really considered it. At this time, Gerwig wants to stick with her upcoming project Narnia that Netflix offered her. However, she has expressed her admiration for the 007 producer Barbara Broccoli.

So there is a possibility the 39-year-old might join hands with this franchise if the opportunity comes to her. Meanwhile, the chances of Henry Cavill taking the lead might have some problems that he faced 20 years ago.

Henry Cavill fans might know that the actor auditioned for Casino Royale at the beginning of his career. However, the Enola Holmes star lost that chance because he was too young. And now when he is considered again the British superstar is once again facing a similar kind of situation except he is too old now.
This is indeed a cruel and ironic twist that when this face of talent has the opportunity, it might just slip from his hand as he has entered his forties. So if he takes the role of 007, he would end up like Daniel Craig and might approach his sixties doing the last film.
