The James Bond franchise has a tremendously huge fanbase. It does not only include the audience in front of the screens but also includes many A-listed artists in Hollywood. One such example is none other than Henry Cavill. While the British actor has been in the race of playing the iconic role for a long time now, Cillian Murphy might weaken his chance after his recent comment about the franchise.

The Peaky Blinders actor recently performed with extreme brilliance in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. Telling the tale of J. Robert Oppenheimer and his dilemmas, Murphy won the audience’s hearts. During his recent interview with Josh Horowitz, the Irish actor was asked if he would have to, what part he would choose to play in Christopher Nolan’s Bond movie. Although he refused to speak for the Academy Award-winning director. The 47-year-old actor revealed he was not sure what role he would play.

Horowitz started the conversation by asking the Inception star if he would like to see Nolan directing a Bond film. To which the actor answered he would definitely go and watch the Nolan-directed Bond film. However, when he had to choose which kind of role, he would like to play, the Dunkirk star had no answer. Instead, he trusted the director of his latest hit flick and said, “Let’s see what Chris comes up with.”

Oppenheimer was not the first film the Nolan-Murphy duo worked together on. The duo has worked on Dunkirk, Inception and Batman Begins together. Now, if the Interstellar director would actually direct the James Bond movie with Cillian Murphy in it, too, their fans would be extremely excited.

While talking about Nolan’s involvement with the fan-favorite franchise, Murphy revealed the 57-year-old director was a huge fan. Although the British director has his own material to make other movies as well, there is no certainty of him directing the Bond film. However, Murphy surely revealed there was a touch of 007 essence in Nolan’s films, like Inception as well.

While looking to hire the perfect director for a movie, Nolan might be a choice for the franchise, given Nolan expressed his wish to be a part of it, too. Although the Bond franchise has not yet announced the replacement of Daniel Craig. Fans have their own picks for this powerful role and The Witcher star, along with other actors, is a top choice. Now, the franchise has already found the writer for the upcoming film.
