While Having a Crush on Jennifer Aniston, Here’s How Matthew Perry Reacted to Another ‘Friends’ Actor Having the Hots for Her
The Friends cast has been somewhat of friendship goals over the last few years. Though they have had their fair share of ups and downs, the actors have rooted for each other. Be it the countless on-screen shenanigans and bloopers or their dynamic off-screen, the six actors share impeccable chemistry together. The group of six leads fit their characters so well that it became impossible to not associate the show with them.
As Friends remains the roaring success that it was for 10 long seasons, some scripted romances tried taking real-life form with Jennifer Aniston at the center of it. Matthew Perry, who played the beloved Chandler, once had a massive crush on Aniston. While nothing could develop between the two, the character knew of another co-star having the hots for her. And certainly, he had a reaction to the same.

It is not a surprise that Aniston was a heartthrob. Her portrayal of the spoiled daddy’s girl to a responsible adult living in New York was one of the main highlights of the show. Added to this was her gorgeous beauty and her fashion style, which became quite famous in the late 90s and early 2000s. Without a doubt, a lot of people developed a crush on her. And Perry, along with his co-actor David Schwimmer both fell into the wagon. In a podcast with SiriusXM The Jess Cagle Podcast back in November 2022, the 17 Again actor said that he already knew about the Schwimmer-Aniston crush situation which was revealed to the public in the Reunion.
Apparently, Perry himself had a crush on the actress which he revealed in his memoir. Though Aniston did not reciprocate it, she did have a crush fling with her on-screen romance Schwimmer. The two even confessed to sharing their liking in the Reunion episode. Perry said to the host in the podcast, “Oh, I knew. I knew what was going on.”
While the actor observed the sparks between his co-actors, he got candid about getting over his feelings in his memoir.

In his book Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, the Fools Rush In actor confessed his dressing room thoughts. The Canadian actor would greet the Murder Mystery actress and later think, “Oh, I’ll never be able to be with her.” Taken back by her intriguing beauty and very likable persona, he had liked her way before Friends started. One of his mutual acquaintances had introduced them three years before the show and he had immediately liked her.
But meeting back on the set a couple of years down the line, he realized he still liked her. Though Aniston respectfully declined, the two went on to maintain a healthy friendship throughout the show. His crush on her eventually evaporated.
