In 2021, Justin Theroux sat down for an interview with Esquire to give his fans a look into his life. He spoke about the rather exhausting year he had because of the COVID-19 pandemic, his career, and about his relationship with his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston. While tabloids had everyone believing they had divorced over not agreeing on a place to settle down, the actor shut those down. He even called it “an oversimplification” of what had played out.

“Look, people create narratives that make themselves feel better or simplify things for them,” the Charlie’s Angels actor continued. While he was adamant about not delving into it too much, he also said, “Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split.” While that should have been enough to put the rumors to rest, their close friendship and amazing bond have also given the world reasons to believe that they just did not work out.

After all, the actor even gushed about Aniston during the interview and explained how much he cherished having her in his life.

In the same interview with Esquire, Justin Theroux shared what it was like being friends with his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, all these years after their divorce. While they seemed to make a stunning couple, they unfortunately only lasted 2 years together. Since they split in 2018, the former couple has made sure to keep in touch. The actor revealed, “We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text.”

He even added that it would have been “a loss” if they were not in contact. Thankfully, they have not lost touch yet. They even put up cute posts on social media for each other’s birthday. While that will not be ending anytime soon, her two divorces did end up leaving the star learning how to love again.
