Jennifer Aniston, who had stayed away from Instagram for a long time, made her debut on the platform in October 2019. The typically social media-shy actress shared a snapshot of the Friends cast, offering a sneak peek into what the reunion of the cast would look like. The post quickly amassed millions of likes and caused a server overload. Theroux told Entertainment Tonight’s Rachel Smith at the New York City press day for Lady and the Tramp, that he got “caught in the glitch” and could not follow Aniston despite trying.
He shared that Aniston personally reached out to Theroux, asking the reason for him not following her. “You haven’t followed me”, asked the Murder Mystery actress. After Theroux’s statement, it was evident that the exes had no animosity towards each other. Though Theroux missed out on following Aniston on her debut day, her co-star from Friends and her real-life BFF, welcomed her in the best way possible.

One of the best platonic duos that the industry witnessed, both on and off-screen, was Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox’s friendship. Both actresses rose to fame in the NBC show and also took their bond beyond the show. When Jennifer Aniston stepped foot into the social media world, Courteney Cox shared a picture of the two with the iconic line from the first episode of Friends, with a small twist. She wrote, “Hi Jen! Welcome to the social media world…it sucks. You’re gonna love it!”.
This was the same line that Courteney Cox’s character, Monica Geller, told Rachel Green (played by Aniston) when the latter stepped into an independent adulting life. Even Aniston’s on-screen partner, David Schwimmer, welcomed Aniston with a Lego depiction of Ross and Rachel on Instagram. Out of all the Instagram debuts, Aniston’s groundbreaking entry into the platform will always be memorable among fans!
