In Friends, the members of the Central Perk shared rather complicated friendships as their bonds mingled into romance and slowly bled into the relationship realm. Similarly, the cast behind these characters also sometimes fell for their filming counterparts, like Matthew Perry developing a crush on each of his female co-stars including Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow. Many fans wondered if any of the co-stars were dating each other at some point. 

So, when one of the male stars suddenly kissed Jennifer Aniston in real life, audiences were bound to wonder what had happened.

Four years after Friends took off, the cast of the NBC series was being interviewed by Channel 4 reporter, Johnny Vaughn, while they were in the UK for filming the episodes that took place in the country. During that, Jennifer Aniston was speaking to Vaughn while strolling through the sitcom’s sets when Matt LeBlanc popped in out of nowhere, kissed Aniston on the lips, and took off. 

A broadly smiling Aniston then explained that stuff like that happened “once in a while”. Since Aniston and LeBlanc were not believed to be dating at the time, the moment was written off as a silly stunt the Joey actor had pulled to amuse viewers. Well, it certainly achieved that effect. However, the host did remark that there seemed to be a “sense of intimacy” between the entire cast. 

In a way, this was true since some entanglements did develop between Aniston and her other two male co-stars. 

Jennifer Aniston shared history with both Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer

One thing that Matthew Perry shed light on extensively through his memoir and interviews was his fascination and love for Aniston. Even before joining forces for Friends, the 17 Again actor had asked her out on a date years ago. However, his love remained unrequited. Meanwhile, David Schwimmer also had feelings for Aniston which were reciprocated by the Just Go With It actress who confirmed this during the Friends: Reunion episode. 

During the episode, Schwimmer suddenly threw a curveball by confessing that he had been “smitten with Jen” during season 1. Then, Aniston revealed that “the feeling was mutual“ for her, which surprised many. Especially since their characters had shared an on-screen romance, fans went into a frenzy when they learned of this fact. Evidently, these young actors certainly shared intimacy while shooting the iconic show.
