Being an actress, there come a lot of responsibilities along with many other changes that are almost inevitable. Therefore, when surprising news came to the P.S. I Love You actress’ way, she immediately shared it with the showmakers and the cast. Among the group of 6 actors, Kudrow was the first one to get married. Therefore, when the now 60-year-old actress found out she was pregnant, the showmakers created a plot line to incorporate the news. They celebrated the actress, as Warren Littlefield, NBC President, admitted it to The List.

Littlefield also went on to say how they did not want to create a show where the actress would go around carrying a box in front of her belly for 9 months. However, showcasing Phoebe Buffay being pregnant was a lot more challenging, as she was not dating anyone at that point in the show. So, they created the plot where Phoebe agreed to be the surrogate for her brother’s baby in season 4. As David Crane also once pointed out; it was indeed an unexpected and different way to go around the plot. But the story’s never-before-seen factor made it even more interesting.
