As per the reports, the original scripts from 1998 from two episodes of the fourth installment, The One With Ross’s Wedding I and II, were recently sent out for auction on December 12th. Hansons’ Hertfordshire Saleroom, who sold the scripts at a whopping value of approximately $28,000, held the auction. Amanda Butler, head of operations at the auctioneer, claims that the bidders “went crazy” with their offers.
The reports also suggest that the scripts were originally recovered in the trash around 26 years ago after the episodes’ filming at Fountain Studios, Wembley. Apparently, a 60-year-old employee had found them back in the day. The former employee confessed to being unsure about “what to do with them” and hence, had “put them in my office drawer.” As per her admission, she had also forgotten about the scripts until recently, which led to her decision for their sale to “a big Friends fan.”.
While on the topic of the episodes in concern, this is what the episodes were all about.

According to the reports, not only the former employee, but even Butler and Hanson Ross, were taken aback by the astounding amount of hammering bids. To the degree that it generated 219 pre-sale bids from worldwide. The episodes in question led to the wheeling of Ross and Rachel’s short-lived romance when the former let out the wrong name while exchanging vows. This also was one of the supposed stirrers to Helen Baxendale’s short run in the show.
The episodes were special in the ways that it was not only the catalyst for Rachel’s realization. In turn, it was also the starter pack of the newlywed’s divorce and a turning point for the love story of Ross and Rachel. Considering the roof-hitting frenzy that it imprinted on the fans’ hearts, the original script being auctioned at staggering figures, after all, is not a shocker.
