Prince Harry and his phone hacking case against Murdoch’s papers have been a rollercoaster of a ride so far. With the New Papers group seizing the case on some days, there is Prince Harry overpowered them on other days in their bitter battle. There have been moments the Duke had to hold back his years passing through the hard-wired act. There had also been moments where he made the papers kneel for an apology. However, nothing has come to a bottom line so far. The heated back-and-forth still continues as Duke keeps on fighting for bringing Murdoch into the witness box. 

As reported by Reuters, the estranged royal, who has been single-handedly fighting for justice for his family, presented the London high court with a stirring demand. Ever since the case proceedings began until this very day, the Duke has been pushing the “secret arrangements” between his family and the tabloids. Nonetheless, the papers managed to strike out his claims, arguing that it is too late for the Prince.

Prince Harry’s lawyers, however, have a solid answer to fight back, which evidently seems to have backfired at the MGN. As per the outlet, the Duke could not bring up any lawsuit against the tabloids because of a contract signed by the Royal family’s administration. According to the details released, the agreement said no royals were allowed to file a case until all other phone-hacking litigation against the NGN came to an end. This apparently tied the hands of the Duke, even though he wanted to take his actions way too early.

It is not a new fact that NGN has shut down innumerable claims in the past. Be it in exchange for a lump sum amount for being silent or be it indulging in a coordinated campaign, they have settled thousands of phone hacking cases in the last decade. The same included Prince William and other senior members of the royal family who decided to fall back against the tabloid story.

The Duke in his extraordinary witness statement exposed how his father’s personal decisions led to the encouragement of the tabloids. “They had a long-term strategy,” revealed the Duke. All of it was done to keep the media frenzy smooth enough for her “evil stepmother,” Queen Camilla, to be accepted by the masses. The Prince’s statement had many such shocking revelations that were too hard for the commoners to digest.
