The video featured Clevr co-founder Hannah Mendoza guiding viewers through the Clevr HQ with employees working in the background, including Markle. With a lineup boasting plant-based goodness like mushrooms, probiotics, and adaptogens, Clevr claims to be the secret sauce for improving focus, increasing energy levels, and boosting mood throughout the day. 

Taking cues from their personal morning rituals, Hannah Mendoza and Roger Coppola joined forces to birth Clevr Blends. Taking the lead in the coffee health-conscious corner, Mendoza and Coppola have put a modern twist on classic café staples like Matcha, Chai, and Coffee lattes. Quick and hassle-free to prepare, these drinks have been scoring rave reviews from happy customers.

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been a major cheerleader for the coffee brand, Clevr Blends. The Duchess, who hopped on board with the oat latte brand in 2020, is said to be a fan of their powdered lattes, making them a part of her daily morning and evening routine.

According to Forbes, Meghan Markle reached out to the Clevr team after trying the company’s oat-milk latte product from a Santa Barbara pop-up coffee shop in 2017. In a statement from Fortune in December 2020, Markle shared that her investment was in support of a passionate women-led business that believed in building community alongside business.

The investment seems to be paying off as Clevr recently hit a significant milestone, marking its entry into Amazon before the onset of 2024.

The California-based brand, famous for its artisanal lattes, received more than just financial support from Markle. She actively promoted and shared the brand within her industry circles, drawing attention from influential figures like Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey, reciprocating the support, gave the brand a valuable shout-out on social media and further boosted its popularity. “Not a day goes by without me sipping on the golden latte from this kit,” she wrote on Oprah Daily.

The Clevr SuperLatte Starter Kit, featuring two 14-serving latte mixes found its place among “Oprah’s Favorite Things”. Clevr Blends received a mention in this 2021 list that shined a spotlight on women-owned and POC-owned businesses spanning fashion, beauty, homeware, toys, lifestyle, and food. The brand gifted her Clevr Blends’ Golden SuperLatte and Matcha SuperLatte, along with a Notcha Matcha package from Flowerhead Tea.

Markle’s recent investment is just one of many strategic moves in the 39-year-old’s post-royal life. Following this move, she made a Spotify deal that did not pan out as expected.
