After making one of the most iconic pop culture references of the year with his Cavillrine cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, Henry Cavill is set to surprise fans even further. As reported by the Giant Freakin Robot in 2021, Cavill joined The Rosie Project as Don Tillman, with Steve Falk slated to write and direct. The Rosie Project, based on Graeme Simsion’s novel, follows genetics professor Don Tillman as he struggles to form serious relationships with women and devises a questionnaire to determine the suitability of potential partners.

That is until he meets Rosie, who does not meet many of his criteria but unexpectedly becomes closer to Tillman. The film is set to be produced by Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan. This project marks a significant shift for Cavill, who has been immersed in action-packed roles. However, there has been no update on the film's development for three years since Cavill’s casting was reported, leaving the project's progress uncertain.

A recent IGN report revealed that Games Workshop has stated Amazon's highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000 film and TV series will not move forward until both companies finalize their "creative guidelines" by December 2024. In its annual financial report, Games Workshop outlined the exclusive rights deal with Amazon for the Warhammer 40,000 projects. Amazon can acquire similar rights for the Warhammer Fantasy universe once the initial Warhammer 40,000 projects are completed.

In December 2023, Games Workshop announced a collaboration with Amazon lasting 12 months, ending in December 2024, to develop these creative guidelines. This timeline leaves both companies just five months to finalize their terms, or the Warhammer 40,000 film and TV series might not see the light of day. While such ultimatums do not apply to The Rosie Project, the absence of progress raises concerns about its future.
