With sunlight passing through ornate flowers woven into arches, a heavenly choir, the world’s tallest names in attendance, and the Buckingham in sight, Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle. The grandeur was spell-bounding to all present, including the Duchess’ Suits co-star, Gina Torres.

Tasked with handling such an eventful event, the British monarchy had retorted to strict protocols for all its guests. While some rules were simple enough, others left the actress somewhat perplexed.

Meghan Markle channeled and shone resplendently as her Suits co-star watched from a distance. While the wedding broke a fair share of royal traditions, it did have a set of strict rules for all its guests to adhere to. For Gina Torres and the ladies, the guidelines mandated a day dress that stretched at least to the knees paired with a hat chosen judiciously enough to not block their neighbor’s view. Speaking to Variety in January 2021, the actress revealed, “Well, my dress is some of that, and some of that, and some of that.”

After careful consideration, she decided to go with a patterned red-and-pink dress paired with a cream fedora. Furthermore, she never expected herself to be subjected to much spotlight among the countless A-listers. Yet, to her surprise, she deservedly was bestowed as one of the top ten best-dressed guests at the royal wedding. Moreover, she also garnered her fair share of media highlights and social media trends with the bright colors on her lighting up her way.

Playing Jessica Pearson and Rachel Zane, Gina Torres and Meghan Markle, respectively, had developed a close working relationship with one another. Their working relationship was once so close that they had termed each other as “sister wives”. However, Torres quit the show with season six and the Duchess had to bow out owing to her royal wedding following season seven.

Years down the lane, the duo is reportedly no longer in touch. Denying any bad blood, Torres simply blamed the flow of life as the reason for not being able to maintain contact with Suits’ co-star. Regardless, the two are currently on different paths in life. While Torres is moving ahead with an acting career, the Duchess of Sussex is busy navigating her life as an overseas royal.
