Despite the trenchant controversies, the Duke and The Duchess of Sussex have managed to stay afloat in the headlines they work for. The self-exiled couple has garnered enormous fanfare across the pond, unlike their deteriorating base in the UK. However, it is still a common conception that Meghan Markle has been riding on her husband’s coattails all this while. More so, further allegations state she had been eyeing the UK royal family long before she even came in contact with Prince Harry. But are these claims really true?

A recent claim against the Duchess came to light on Twitter. An account named Mystifeyed shared a few pictures of the Duchess clicked by the running paparazzi on her day-to-day life. Framing the pictures, the account implied that Meghan Markle had been putting herself into the limelight much before she entered the royal waters. It also stated that she had been captured sometimes before the Kensington even when she was not Prince Harry‘s girlfriend yet. However, the facts stated clearly do not seem true. 

When was Meghan Markle first seen before Kensington?

The first time Markle was seen “walking back and forth in front of Kensington Palace” was in the year 2016. It was the same year the Military Prince and the American Princess were starting off with baby steps for their budding romance. As reported by Mirror and other outlets, they saw Markle strolling up to Kensington to call on her then-new boyfriend. 

Word was on the street that the two in fact lived together in Kensington together. This was a couple of years before getting married in 2018 at the St. George’s Chapel.

Did the New York car chase take place?

The New York car chase, as alleged next, was undoubtedly one of the biggest media frenzies of the year. Back in May, a near-catastrophic chase took place that compelled the higher authorities to address the issue. The NYDP to the state’s mayor, all shared their views on the same. Although exaggerated as claimed previously, the chase did happen unlike as pointed out in the tweet. 

Moreover, the pictures that have been put up are all recent pictures of the Duchess. The white button-downs are from the Montecito Farmers’ Market and the Santa Barbara office exit. The other two were shot earlier this year when Markle made a handful of appearances in her hometown Montecito.
