UK Taxpayers Beg to Be Spared as Prince Harry Makes Numerous Visits
The United Kingdom went through quite a change when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left the country and resigned as senior Royal members. And ever since then, the two have only met briefly through lawsuit hearings and coronation. It is evident that the Sussexes do not visit the royal family on cloud nine. And it looks like for the first time in a while Prince Harry and the citizens of the United Kingdom are on the same page.
UK’s taxpayers gulped with a grain of salt the whopping $125 million cost of King Charles’ coronation at the price of showing the world the glory of Great Britain. However, even they know when to draw the line. And they choose to do it at Prince Harry’s whopping £492,000 ($630,000) cost of security.
This staggering cost, however, is not just Prince Harry’s cross to bear. The 38-year-old royalty has been saying ever since his mega exit from the Palace that he can pay for his own security. However, this good-willed bid made by him came to bite the UK taxpayers in the pocket after it was rejected.

The court cost is estimated to be around $643,000 (£502,000) but it will cost the Prince’s pockets a mere £10,000( $12,800) while the taxpayers pay the rest, as per The Sun.
The misery of the taxpayers does not end here as the Prince plans to bid for his own security again later this year. It is ironic how King Charles has already diminished the prospect of tax-funded security for non-working royals, yet Prince Harry’s fight to arrange his own security is burning a hole in their pockets.

However, this burnt hole provides a clearer picture as to why the Duke of Sussex is relentless in demanding his own police guard when in England.
Why is Prince Harry fighting for his own security?

The tale of the Sussex royal’s fight for acquiring his own security when in the United Kingdom is long enough to rival his memoir. It all started with him claiming that his family was denied security following the Megxit. Since then, Prince Harry argued that he can pay for his own security. And all seemed to be going well, especially since King Charles restricted tax-funded security for non-working royals.
It is unclear if this has played a part in Meghan Markle not returning to the United Kingdom. However, it definitely has played one in the UK taxpayers’ growing disdain towards Prince Harry every time he returns home.
