Henry Cavill’s journey in The Witcher officially came to an end with the third season. Considering last season’s attempts to bring the series closer to its original source, there is a sense of hope in the air for the fans. However, it almost seems impossible for someone else to fill in for Cavill who has become the OG Geralt in the fandom’s eyes. A part of the reason that helped Cavill ace his portrayal of Geralt was his knowledge of the source material.

Cavill, being a fanatic of Andrzej Sapkowski novels and The Witcher games, embraced the character in the best manner possible. However, The Witcher was not the only game adaptation Cavill wanted to be a part of.

Any ardent fan of the Man Of Steel actor would know that gaming has been his favorite pastime for many years. In fact, one reason Cavill was so hell-bent on grabbing a role in Lauren Hissrich’s series was his love for the game. Though he ended up annoying the showrunner for a meeting to cast him in the show, the star definitely knew he was made for the show. During the promotion of the second season of The Witcher, Cavill told Gamereactor how he would like to be a part of another video game adaptation, Red Dead Redemption.

Amidst the chaos of the industry and media pressure, the actor seeks refuge in video games. One of the games that he started playing in December 2021 was Rockstar San Diego’s survival game. When asked what game adaptation would he like for Netflix to adopt next, the actor replied “Red Dead Redemption”. The actor further went on to say that he recently started playing the game and was enjoying it very much. Therefore, he would love for the game “to turn into a movie”.
