The famous Frogmore Cottage had been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Earlier this year, it was confirmed by the royal spokeswoman of Buckingham Palace that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, had been asked by King Charles to vacate their Frogmore Cottage in Britain. Although the duo shifted to Los Angeles after completing their final set of royal engagements in 2020, they were using the cottage whenever they were in the UK.

Despite all the turbulence surrounding the Royal family, the Duke and Duchess’ former house carries special significance for them.

After the Duke and Duchess exchanged vows at St. George’s Chapel in 2018, the cottage welcomed its most famous residents yet. Furthermore, the Sussexes planned a grandiose wedding reception for their close friends and family before moving in to the Frogmore House. In the bash, the couple looked stunning in their evening attires, with Markle wore a halter gown with and the prince sported a black suit. With over 200 people, the event was one of the most exorbitant one that the cottage would ever witness.

The former royals celebrated Princess Lilibet’s first birthday at the estate in June of last year. Following that, the couple shared a second official portrait of their daughter. The one-year-old, who has strawberry blonde hair, appeared to be a replica of her father when he was approximately the same age. The birthday and the wedding bash, two very cherished moments of the Sussexes took place at the Frogmore Cottage.

While the house is of huge importance to them, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are done, dusted, and looking for a new residence in the UK.

Following their stay in sunny California for three years after saying goodbye to their royal engagements, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be moving back to the United Kingdom. This decision is said to be taken by the Prince, as he wants his old life back. A source close to the former royals told OK! Magazine that this decision had caused a “rift” between the couple, as Markle would still prefer staying back in the States.

The former Royals intend to rent out a new residence at Kensington Palace. In order to demonstrate their sincerity about the move, they are furnishing the property themselves. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seem to have reached the conclusion after the falloff their Spotify deal. This will be their biggest gesture to make amends with the rest of the royals in years. If it falls into place, that is.
