The fashion aficionado, Kim Kardashian sure knows how to belt out back-to-back show-stopping looks. Just yesterday, the SKIMS founder froze everybody in their tracks with pictures from her daughter, Chicago’s sixth birthday, with a snowy-white fit that screamed Elsa from Disney’s Frozen. A pro at breaking the internet with sizzling carousels of her alluring silhouette, the 43-year-old is back at it. After that brief interlude with a monochromatic fit, the social media queen slipped into a dazzling purple ensemble today. 

While slaying online in her new look, she signaled her transition into a new era of wearing hues of violet. 

Kim Kardashian serves a vision in purple

Just a little while earlier, Kim Kardashian took to her Instagram account to share some images of her posing in a purple fit. The caption deemed the moment her “Purple Reign”, a wordplay on the 80s track, ‘Purple Rain’ by Prince. In a way, the dress’s aesthetic gave off retro vibes, all the while lending her a futuristic look through its blend of metallic and chrome shimmer. 

The short dress featured a bandeau top with an open front, exposing The Kardashian star’s sculpted midriff. It was reminiscent of the purple love she displayed at a Dolce & Gabbana soiree last year. While the mother of four rarely steps out in this shade being a self-proclaimed lover of nude and black-and-white palettes, the dress complimented her style as much as any of her other fashion choices. 

Her reference to ‘Purple Rain’ hints that she might finally be over the embarrassing incident that occurred between her and the track’s artist decades ago. 

The history between Prince and The Kardashians star

Well before Kardashian met Kanye West, she went to a Prince concert with then-fiancé Kris Humphries. During the show, the now-deceased musician invited the beauty mogul on stage for a dance-along. However, Kardashian, who is known to not be too fond of dancing, refused to play along. This led to Prince kicking her off the stage. Later, she addressed the embarrassment she felt at the moment on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. 

This cringe-inducing moment occurred in 2010 and the now 43-year-old confessed it was going to “haunt” her forever. She even went as far as to say that she was “never going to dance again” because of it. Now, decades later, she seems to have moved past the embarrassment as she embraces the 7-time Grammy winner’s track through the reference in her post.
