One of the long-standing rumors has been about Henry Cavill possibly playing Captain Britain in Marvel. The demand for this casting is through the roof, and it is not hard to see why. Henry Cavill’s British charm, coupled with his strong on-screen presence, makes him a natural fit for the role of Captain Britain. Recently, MCU News and Updates, shared on X, formerly Twitter, that Cavill has allegedly already landed this popular role and will star in an MI6/Excalibur project.

While there has not been any official confirmation on the rumored casting, Cavill’s interest in this role adds credibility to the speculation. In a 2022 interview, when asked about his preferred role in Marvel, The Tudors actor told The Hollywood Reporter that “(Captain Britain) would be loads of fun to do“. He also suggested that they could do a “cool, modernized version” of the Marvel comic hero, just like they did with Captain America. However, there is another character fans are betting Cavill would nail.

Cavill played it cool and hinted that transitioning from DC to Marvel might not be out of the question. This idea would really fly if it were part of a Squadron Supreme project or a brief Deadpool 2-style cameo, where the X-Men appeared on screen for mere seconds. However, considering how hard Cavill tried to break free from the Superman typecast, it is difficult to gauge just how eager he would be to dive into another full-fledged Superman show.
