The Duchess is Sussex, Meghan Markle, and her award-winning podcast, Archetypes, have come a long way. What started off as yet another stirring controversy amongst the royal spectators soon emerged to be a revolutionary work of art and aptitude. The twelve-episode talk show witnessed numerous world-famous personalities sharing their two cents on various anti-stereotypical headlines. Featuring top-tier celebrities like Trevor Noah, Paris Hilton, and Serena Williams to world personalities like Canada’s first lady, the podcast gathered a global audience topping the Spotify charts. 

As a matter of fact, having such great minds in-house, they obviously did not have a gossip session like many thought it to be. Instead, it shed light on some of the most sensitive matters of world affairs that continue to affect lives worldwide as we speak. Some have been persistent in breaching headlines to date. Like that Markle’s Bimbo comment confession on the set, she did not hold back.

Meghan Markle on Prince Archie’s Room in Fire

In one of the debut episodes of the podcast, Markle opened up to long-time friend, Serena Williams, about a traumatizing experience back when they resided in Canada. According to the Duchess, the mishap took place while the royal couple was en route to Africa to render off their royal engagements in 2019. 

Back then, Prince Archie’s nanny was supposed to make him sleep in his room, as was the custom. However, for some unknown reason, she happened to go down with the toddler Prince. That is exactly when a fire broke out in the nursery. “He was supposed to be sleeping in there,” claimed Markle. 

Markle on being ‘Ambitions’

The former American actress has always been a pioneer of women’s rights and empowerment. It was not because she attained the title of Duchess. Rather, it dated back to the time she was a mere child in a catholic school. However, upon her engagement to Prince Harry, she felt the negative connotation of being ambitious; she said.

Putting forward the orthodox society’s perspective, “Ambition is a terrible, terrible thing, for a woman that is — according to some,” continued the Duchess. “So, since I’ve felt the negativity behind it, it’s really hard to un-feel it. I can’t unsee it, either,” confessed the former Suits star to her closest acquaintance. 

Markle on her struggles as a black 

The second episode of Archetypes was all about race and the crude discrimination based on the same. The session featured pop icon Mariah Carey as the special guest who joined the Duchess in talking about racism. Navigating through the story of her being biracial, Markle confessed how society categorized her as black until she tied the knot with Prince Harry. 

Meghan Markle as an “ugly duckling”

This episode entitled The Stigma of the Singleton saw Markle and eminent director, Mindy Kaling, explore the hardships of high school. 

The California native confessed how she had this “beautiful but massive frizzy curly hair and a huge gap in my teeth.” Speaking out of experience, Markle revealed how as a teenager, she was often bullied with the term, “ugly duckling” owing to her biracial skin tone and Nigerian characteristics. 

Nonetheless, these were not all. Markle had some of the other most stirring remarks. Her final nail to the coffin of her treacherous struggle was her closing lines of the podcast.
